The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Swarna getting shocked on learning about the family reunion. She calls up Kirti, who tells her that she enjoyed her anniversary with Naksh. Swarna gets annoyed. She goes to meet Kartik. Naira decides to tell Kartik the reality behind her leg injury.
She takes Kartik to the chemistry lab and they get engrossed in each other. The students open the door of the chemistry lab and catch the two. They start teasing Naira and Kartik. They call Naira to be low on character. Swarna overhears the conversation. She sees Kartik yelling at the students. She then sees Naira standing next to Kartik.

Swarna gets shocked. She fears that she will lose her son the way she lost Shubham. She drives herself to the hotel and constantly keeps thinking of Kartik and Naira. Suddenly, she sees a car in between and hits a tree in order to escape the car. Manish calls up Suhasini and tells her that Swarna went to Kartik's college. Suhasini asks him not to panic.
Luv and Kush call up Surekha and complain against Kirti's in-laws saying that they constantly ask them to help them with small things. Surekha comes to the Goenka house and scolds the two for complaining over small things. Swarna meets with an accident. Naira, while on the way home, sees Swarna and panics.
