The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Naira heading out to take admission in Imperial College. Naitik tells Chitti Maharaj of how Naira and Kartik signed papers claiming no rights of Kartik over the Akshara Dance Academy. He cries while Chitti Maharaj consoles him.

At Goenka’s house, Manish and Akhilesh talk about sending Kartik to Mumbai so that he could take care of their new project. Swarna refuses to let Kartik go but Manish turns adamant on his decision. Manish asks Kartik to go ahead and do the job as required. Kartik refuses, but Manish forces him to go.

Swarna goes to help Kartik pack his bags and then takes him to the temple. Bhabhi maa, Devyani and Kirti also go to the same temple. Bhabhi maa asks Devyani and Kirti to talk to Swarna once but Devyani says that there is no point since she has a lot of hatred in her mind for Naira.

They meet Swarna, Surekha and Kartik at the temple. They acknowledge them and go away. Swarna takes Kartik away. Manish prays to God to make Naira and Kartik meet. Naira goes and fills the form. Some people talk of the new trustees coming over and say that they are the Goenka’s but Naira fails to listen to the name. Later a boy bumps into the college staff with the papers of trustees with their names.

The papers go flying and Naira tries to collect it all. She misses out on reading the name of Goenka’s as the new trustees. Later she goes home and Naitik and Chitti Maharaj who are having Pani Puri, get scared on seeing Naira. Later Naira's neighbour asks her about her plans of getting married. Naitik overhears the conversation. Naira asks her to search for a good match and runs home. She tells Naitik that she doesn't want anyone to know about her past life.
