The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Luv and Kush coming home from the hostel for vacations. They see Naira’s and Kartik's fancy showpiece being thrown away by their domestic help and take it in. Manish and Akhilesh see it and remember Naira. Swarna comes and gets angry on seeing it. She asks for it to be thrown away.

Suddenly they hear a loud noise from Kartik's room. Kartik is offered ginger tea and on holding it, he drops the glass because he is suddenly reminded of Naira. Later Kartik drinks alcohol to calm him down and goes down. Swarna asks him to have breakfast but he refuses. Swarna then refuses to have breakfast herself and Kartik feeds her. Manish and Akhilesh smile. She informs that Suhasini will be going to visit their ancestral palace. Kartik gets a call from someone to sign papers. Swarna asks him to get rid of the matter once and for all. Kartik goes and meets Kirti. He signs some papers and gets angry on her when she asks him to connect with Naira.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Naira is seen turning into a Mumbaikar and nailing at travelling through local trains and dealing with the hustle bustle of the city. While Kartik is distorted and angry, Naira is calm and composed. The two miss each other terribly. Naira is seen travelling in trains. She reaches home and takes food on the way. She hears Naitik fighting with their neighbour. The neighbour sees Naira and talks to her. Naitik sees Naira trying to wear a fake smile.
