The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Kartik asks Naira about filling the college application form but she feels Suhasini would object to it. Kartik asks her to not give up on her dreams after marriage.

The next morning, Suhasini gets a call from Naira's college. Suhasini gets angry with Naira for taking a big decision on her own. Naira promises to balance her work and family properly but Suhasini objects. Shubham stresses over his drug addiction.

At the Singhanias, Naitik advises Buadadi to not believe in horoscopes. Swarna worries for Shubham.

Naira goes out to plan for Kartik's birthday celebrations. She rushes and finds a goon trying to beat Shubham for stealing drugs. She gets shocked and cries. Shubham realises his folly and cries. He asks her to keep the secret to herself as he himself wants to disclose about his drug addiction to all. He promises to leave drugs.

Kartik plays cricket with Luv and Kush when Shubham comes and joins the game. Kartik smiles at Naira and thanks her for helping Shubham.
