Chris ‘Coldplay’ Martin and Dakota Fifty Shades of Grey Johnson had sparked off dating rumours when they were spotted together in 2017. They had been seen on a mid-October sushi date in Los Angeles, looking cozy and affectionate. Then an Instagram pic of Dakota backstage at a Coldplay in Argentina came along, all but confirming their togetherness. Fans in the crowd spotted the actress in the sound booth and excitedly posted pictures on social media as she hung out during the show. The new year, however, sees the couple come out and make their relationship practically official!

Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 40 and actress Dakota Johnson, 28, have been photographed together for the first time while they were out on a date in Malibu. Apparently, the two arrived together in Chris’s car and met up with friends. Both were all smiles, laughing together and reportedly getting flirty as well. They also left the restaurant together. It does look like love, actually!

In the past, Chris Martin had been linked to Jennifer Lawrence, after he and ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow ‘consciously uncoupled’ in 2014. However, after around a year, Jennifer apparently called time on their relationship as she was tired of Chris being noncommittal. While Chris supposedly didn’t really want the relationship to end, he felt the need for flexibility so he could see his family as much as possible with his own work schedule. Both he and the Hunger Games actress have also been busy with their own careers, which may have played a role in the split.

Incidentally, even as Chris and Dakota are making things more official, his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow has got engaged to American Horror Story producer Brad Falchuk. The Oscar-winning actress and the Emmy nominated producer apparently started dating in September 2015. The 45-year-old Paltrow announced her engagement with an Instagram preview of the two embracing in a black and white photo on the cover of Goop magazine. And yes, she used a diamond ring emoji as the caption!
