The first trailer of Fifty Shades Freed, the last chapter of the erotic saga, Fifty Shades of Grey, released this Monday. Starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, and directed by James Foley, the film is scheduled for Valentine’s Day release. The trailer opens with the couple cuddling on their honeymoon. Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey got married in the second part of the series but the makers decided on throwing in a reminder for the audience. The two refer to each other as ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ in bed.

Post their return, Grey gifts his wife a mansion and is seen apologizing to her for not asking permission first. Anastasia seems to be enjoying her life of luxury with her husband till she finds herself in a dangerous and unfamiliar territory and from there, things begin to get darker. And of course, the trailer also has scenes of the couple engaging in BDSM. The trailer ends with probably the cheesiest and most predictable line the makers could’ve picked, “Don’t miss the climax”. 

A newly married rich, kinky couple get themselves involved in petty drama that the makers have tried their best to sensationalize. Despite the bad reviews and ridicule the last two movies of the series received, they went on to make a lot of money. Sex sells, and that might be the only reason people watch this considering that the trailer isn’t promising, to say the least. If Dakota is going to indulge in a car chase which will remind you of female James Bond 007 version, we rest our case!

The franchise is based on the novels by writer E.L. James. The first movie in the series, Fifty Shades of Grey, released in 2015, followed by the second part, Fifty Shades Darker, both of which were smashing successes at the box office.  Also returning in Fifty Shades Freed are, Victor Rasuk, Jennifer Ehle, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Callum Keith Rennie, Bruce Altman and Robinne Lee, who are joined for the first time by Arielle Kebbel and Brant Daugherty.
