Without a shadow of a doubt, birthday icon Sobhita Dhulipala and all things fashion are a match ‘Made in Heaven.’ The actress, who mesmerized us with her portrayal of ‘Tara Khanna’ has come a long way showing her acting prowess. However, safe to say, her wardrobe isn’t lagging behind either. Be it on or off the screen, Sobhita moulds like clay, fitting herself into the character or a look. And for her latest film Ponniyin Selvan: II the diva transformed into a royal princess Vanathi who was a dream to look at.
Stylist and costume designer Eka Lakhani, who styled the birthday bae, both for the film and promotions spoke exclusively with PeepingMoon about how she is a delight to work with. “Sobhita is a style diva in herself. She is someone who has a great personal style, taste and aesthetics. While working with Sobhita what you need to do is aid her into the look that she wants to create. Working with her as Vanathi in PS1 and PS2 was an absolute dream. Everything we gave her, worked out very well. So Vanathi was one of my favorite characters whom I have dressed in the film," Eka told.
Not just her roles, Sobhita commits her 100 per cent to her looks as well. “Off-screen, I think Sobhita has a lot of style. She is very different in the way she dresses. She loves to do traditional attire, she loves to do western silhouettes but whatever she does it has a modern touch to it. She makes it her own and puts a lot of effort into the look to come out from her end. She really works hard to get the look correct from the jewellery to the photo shoots, to the makeup…there is a thought behind everything and being her stylist is an absolute dream because she is hand in hand in trying to make the look work with you,” she added.
