PeepingMoon Exclusive: Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur roped in alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force

Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force is an ambitious project set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force. We recently reported that Khiladi Kumar has already finished the first schedule of the aerial action thriller and will begin the next stint of shooting next month. The period drama will be shot on a massive scale across numerous air bases in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Assam over a four-month period. It’s based on a true event and celebrates one of the greatest triumphs of the Indian Air Force during the 1960s and 1970s. While Akshay Kumar headlines the film, we hear the makers have also assembled an ensemble cast to bring this captivating story to the big screen.

Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur have been roped in to play the leading roles alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force. Although the details regarding their characters have been kept under wraps at this moment, sources have informed us that they will be seen playing small yet crucial roles in this aviation thriller. Both actresses have signed the film and will commence shooting next month. "Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur have both worked with Akshay in Airlift and Atrangi Re, respectively, and are excited to collaborate with him once again. However, they will be exploring a very different realm in this movie than they have in previous Akshay Kumar movies. They are not portraying stereotypical romantic interests; rather, they will be seen playing strong, intense characters that significantly impact the storyline," the source told us.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan (Maddock Films), Jyoti Deshpande (Jio Studios), and Amar Kaushik, Sky Force is being jointly directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur. Akshay Kumar is said to have allotted over 50 days to shoot this film between June and October. Afterward, he is expected to move on to the highly anticipated Hera Pheri 3 later this year. As for Sara Ali Khan, she is currently awaiting the release of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and will join Akshay on the film's set shortly after its release on June 2. She was earlier supposed to resume Jagan Shakti’s film with Tiger Shroff this week; however, the shooting of that film has now been delayed to the end of June. Apart from Akshay, Sara, and Nimrat, the film boasts a talented supporting cast, although their names haven’t been revealed yet. Sky Force is targeting a late 2024 release.
