PeepingMoon Exclusive: Uri director Aditya Dhar turns producer; to revive his debut film Raat Baki with Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi

Filmmakers Aditya Dhar and Ronnie Screwvala are collaborating yet again. With their ambitious mythological sci-fi film The Immortal of Ashwatthama delayed by a year, the two are now joining hands to produce a film together. Peepingmoon.com has learned that Aditya and Ronnie are set to revive the former's Raat Baaki that was supposed to mark his directorial debut in 2016 before the film was shelved following the growing political tension between India and Pakistan.

"Aditya Dhar is turning producer and has set up a production company named Aditya Dhar Films. His brother Lokesh Dhar is his business partner in this new venture located in Bandra Suburban. Raat Baaki will be their first production film and they have teamed up with Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Productions to back it. Aditya's actress wife Yami Gautam and Scam 1992 breakthrough star Pratik Gandhi will play the lead roles in this romantic-comedy. It is written by Aarsh Vora and Aditya," a source close to the development told us adding that the script has gone through several minor changes to keep it fresh for today's audiences.

We have also learned that Aditya Dhar will not helm it himself this time and has handed over its directorial baton to his friend Rishab Seth who has previously directed YRF's first Television show, Rishta.com for Sony TV. The pre-production of this film has already begun and will get off the ground sometime in January next year with around a 50-days schedule planned in Delhi and Mumbai. The film is an action rom-com about one night where everything goes wrong for a young couple.

Raat Baaki was earlier happening with Katrina Kaif and Kapoor & Sons fame Fawad Khan playing the lead roles. However, it was put on the backburner after the Pakistani artists were banned from working in India in the aftermath of the Uri attack. Aditya then went on to make his directorial debut with Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike.
