There’s a Valentine’s Day party being held even as you read this at Bollywood director Punit Malhotra’s Pali Hill residence and spinning the music tracks for him is Marshmello, widely regarded as the No. 1 DJ in the world. It’s an industry-entry-only-party, folk, so don’t try to gatecrash it. In attendance will be the hip and happening current crowd of Bollywood comprising Kartik Aaryan, Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Siddharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and a bunch of others.
Punit, Manish Malhotra’s nephew, is staying in the celebrated Bollywood stylist-designer’s old apartment on the Pali Hill slopes. Last year it was Karan Johar, with whom Punit made his Bollywood directorial debut with I Hate Luv Storys in 2010, who hosted a Valentine Day party for all the singles in Bollywood. It was famously attended by Farhan Akhtar, Sussanne Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Bhumi Pednekar, Nimrat Kaur, Kiara Advani, Aditi Rao Hydari, Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor, and Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia who are now married and have a baby daughter.

Marshmello, who has more than 20 million combined social media followers, has consistently landed at the top of global dance charts since his 2016 breakout single Alone, the video for which is at 1 billion views on YouTube. His latest smash hit single Happier with Bastille topped the charts around the world with cumulative streams nearing one billion.

Marshmello, who is slated to be one of the highest-earning DJs in 2019, released a collaborative track titled BIBA with Bollywood music composer Pritam on February 1. It weaves together genres, languages and star power across borders. The uplifting romantic track combines the pure emotion and joy of Bollywood with Marshmello’s world class contemporary production.
