Exclusive: Salman Khan to release 'Bharat' teaser on Jan. 26

Salman Khan’s fans, who were expecting a teaser or at least a sneak peek of his Eid 2019 outing Bharat on his 53rd birthday on December 27, were disappointed when that did not happen. However, director Ali Abbas Zafar went on Twitter and asked them not to be disheartened as the Bharat team had planned something on a “special date”. “Naye saal mein nayi film ki baat karenge,” Zafar had promised last month.

Now, PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Zafar was hinting that the teaser of Bharat would be out on January 26, on the occasion of Republic Day. The teaser is currently being edited and those who have seen the rushes of the period drama are reportedly going gaga over it.

“The teaser has everything you want from a Salman film. But apart from that, it also has that strong content vibe which will make even non-Salman fans wait for the film. Presenting a content film in a massy Salman Khan style has been the USP of Ali Abbas Zafar and he creates that magic again with Bharat,” a source said.

“The teaser is believed to have some amazing dialogues and stunning visuals. One of the dialogues that begins with the line, “Jante ho mere maa baba ne mera naam Bharat kyun rakha tha?” will give you goose bumps,” the source further said, adding that Bharat is more real and grittier than Salman’s and Ali’s previous films, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

The film, which is an official adaptation of the 2014 Korean film An Ode to My Father, is said to be a mature, subtle love story. It talks about the triumph of the human spirit and hope and chronicles the story of a man who lives through several significant moments from India’s past to present, starting in 1947 and ending in 2010.

The film sees Salman ageing from 25 to 65 years and Katrina Kaif from 28 to 60 and witnessing one of the most dramatic chapters of Indian history, the Partition. Also starring Tabu, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, Nora Fatehi and Aashif Sheikh, Bharat is scheduled to release on June 5.
