Don’t know how far this is true, but the Indore tabloid First Print in a report suggests that the lovely Katrina Kaif has only about 15 minutes’ screen time in YRF’s big-ticket Diwali action drama Thugs of Hindostan.
In an earlier story, the tabloid had written that the makers of the film starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina and Fatima Sana Shaikh, were not fully satisfied with the finished product. Reshooting was not an option, so they sat on the edit table and chopped out portions of Thugs of Hindostan that were believed to be not required.

As a result of which, it is said, Katrina’s role has been reduced. But sources say that Katrina is outstanding in the two songs she has in the film, Suraiyya and Manzoor-e-Khuda. They account for around eight minutes of her screen time. Apart from that, her scenes are not more than another six or seven minutes, which gives Katrina a total time of 15 minutes in Thugs of Hindostan.
Does that make Fatima the lead heroine of the film? It’s not clear because the makers are showcasing Katrina as the actress holding fort in Thugs of Hindostan. Understandably so, because she is the bigger name. First Print is believed to have been told by YRF that Katrina’s fans will not be disappointed when they see her in the film.

PeepingMoon.com, which counts itself among the actress’ fans, has no doubt about that. After Thugs of Hindostan on Diwali, Katrina Kaif has another big release in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero at Christmastime. In both these films, she will be sharing credits and screen time with Fatima and Anushka Sharma respectively.
