Exclusive: Aamir Khans exits from Mogul; Director Subhash Kapoor to prove his "innocence in the court of law"

In the wake of #MeToo movement, a few hours back, Aamir Khan along with wife Kiran Rao issued a joint statement saying that his production house has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and misconduct. He further revealed in the statement that he has decided to not go ahead with a big project that he was supposed to start work on because a person related to the project has been accused of sexual misconduct.

The cat is now out of the bag and the big-ticket project is none other but the biopic on the life of music baron, late Gulshan Kumar, titled Mogul. Aamir was the joint producer on the film with T-Series honcho and Gulshan Kumar's son, Bhushan Kumar. Mogul was helmed by director Subhash Kapoor, and he is the man Aamir pointed out in his statemnet.

In an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon.com, Subhash stated, "I understand and respect Aamir khan's and Kiran Rao's decision. Since matter is subjudice, I intend to prove my innocence in the court of law. But I do want to raise a question - is secretly filming a crying woman without her consent and knowledge and uploading it on social media not harassment or abuse? Or is it fine if she is related to someone who is "allegedly accused"of a misconduct. If your answer is latter then for me it's nothing less then a khaap panchayat mentality. "

Furthermore, when a leading media portal contacted Bhushan Kumar he said, "He (Aamir) doesn't want to work with Subhash Kapoor because of his unfinished case." Bhushan made it clear that T-Series will neither work with Kapoor nor make the film (Mogul) with him.
