Palomi Ghosh replaces Rhea Chakraborty in Satellite Shankar

Okay, it’s not Rhea Chakraborty of Mukesh Bhatt’s forthcoming film Jalebi who will be cast opposite an ecstatic Sooraj Pancholi in Satellite Shankar that went on the floors on September 3. PeepingMoon.com sources say the Bengali actress and MTV VJ who was seen in the YRF release Bank Chor in 2017 has been replaced by another Bengali actress, Palomi Ghosh, in this Irfan Kamal film about a soldier with an amazing memory and ability to connect who discovers India and has the country discovering him.

Actually, Rhea was being considered for a pivotal role in Satellite Shankar but not as Pancholi’s love interest. Now comes the news that the producers, including Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Murad Khetani of Cine 1 Studios, have decided to cast Palomi because Rhea apparently had date issues. Palomi, who is famous for acting in international films like The Waiting City, Gandhi of The Month and Hotel Salvation, is best known for her National Award winning role in the Konkani musical drama Nachom-ia Kumpasar of 2015 that went on to win 24 international awards altogether. She just broke into singing by making her debut as a Bollywood playback in Ajay Devgn’s Helicopter Eela with the much-celebrated number Yaadon Ki Almaari featuring Kajol and Riddhi Sen.

It is believed that the producers are in talks with a heroine from the South to join the cast alongside Pancholi and Palomi. The film depicts a soldier’s journey from the north to the south and will be shot in ten states including a 60-day schedule in Kashmir. The South actress will be Pancholi’s love interest. The actor, who went on Instagram to thank his “friends, fans and family” for their love on the first day of shooting, will reportedly undergo combat training for his role and also acquire a hardened military look. His character travels from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a mission of self-discovery. Pancholi also has Remo D’Souza’s Time to Dance to look forward to in which he is cast opposite Isabelle Kaif, the debutante sister of Katrina Kaif.
