The news is confirmed that John Abraham and Anees Bazmee have teamed together again for Paagalpanti. And now we hear that the director, whose last film was the disastrous romantic comedy Mubarakan in 2017, is looking to cast some older actors in the film.

Bazmee was in talks with Ajay Devgn, whom he directed in his debut film Hulchul in 1995, and also Anil Kapoor, his Mubarakan actor, when Paagalpanti was titled Saadhe Saati. But after Ajay, with whom Bazmee has made three films, opted out of the project John stepped in to play the lead role in it. The film is being produced by Kumar Mangat and his son Abhishek Pathak.

Paagalpanti is a two hero film so the makers of the film are now looking at either Anil or Sanjay Dutt to play the other main lead in it. Bazmee had discussed it with Anil when Ajay was part of the project. Anil at present is shooting for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and Total Dhamaal. He also has worked with Bazmee on a number of films and if comes on board Paagalpanti, it will a reunion of the Welcome Back of 2015 team that also had John.

Dutt has always been on Bazmee’s wish list. The director is reportedly looking at the actor as an option for the other main lead. There is buzz that Bazmee may also approach Dutt for Aankhein 2 which he is going to direct and has Amitabh Bachchan in the main lead. Dutt and John have not worked together since they did Sanjay Gupta’s mystery thriller Zinda in 2006. Mahesh Manjrekar’s 2005 family drama Viruddh, that had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, also featured John and Dutt in special roles. But the actors had no scenes together.
