The epic biographical is undoubtedly the most awaited heroine-driven film coming next year. However, the film which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2019, is likely to have a change in its release date.

Peepingmoon has learned that the makers of Manikarnika are reportedly unhappy with some portions and have decided to reshoot some scenes that have gone wrong. A source close to the film has informed us that KV Vijayendra Prasad who has penned the script has insisted on changing some of the scenes that have already been shot. "The film was shown to Vijayendra Prasad and he felt some scenes were not working. Other unit members also agreed and hence it has been decided to rework on those crucial scenes," said the source.

However, the twist in the tale here is that filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi who has helmed this film is not likely to reshoot these portions. "Krish has signed another South film, a biopic on NTR which has a very promising star cast that includes Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sumanth among others. This project needs his full attention. Krish doesn't want to be handling both big projects at the same time and has reportedly told the Manikarnika makers that he will not be available for the reshoot," the source told us.

The Manikarnika makers will now have to get another director to reshoot it. The producers have apparently estimated the budget of Rs 5 crores to reshoot taking the cost of the film to Rs 95 crores now.

Manikarnika celebrates the extraordinary story of one of India's earliest freedom fighters who took on took on the British Raj and laid down her life fighting for her soil at the age of 30. The biopic also stars Jisshu Sengupta as Gangadhar Rao, Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Sonu Sood as Sadashiv, Suresh Oberoi as Peshwa Bajirao II, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi as Puran Singh and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkaribai.
