India's most popular digital star Jitendra Kumar aka Jeetu— as he is fondly called— is starting the new year 2021 with a leading OTT platform's Original Film. Peepingmoon.com has learned that Jeetu who has impressed one and all with his relatable common man characters in TVF shows such as Permanent Roommates, Pitchers, Kota Factory and Panchayat is next doing a sports-based film for the streaming giant in association with his colleagues from The Viral Fever (TVF).
The project in question has been titled Jadoogar and will see Jitu playing the role of a football player. Arushi Sharma who made her Bollywood debut with Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal last year has been roped in to play the female lead while Javed Jaffrey is said to be playing a sports coach. Sameer Saxena who has previously made the desi Indian TVF shows like Permanent Roommates, Yeh Meri Family and TVF Tripling will direct the film that has been written by his regular collaborator Biswapati Sarkar.
This film is believed to be a new beginning for Saxena and Sarkar who walked out of TVF last August owing to the alleged differences on the company's future business approach. Sameer Saxena and Biswapati Sarkar alongwith Amit Golani and Saurabh Khanna have started a new production company named Posham Pa Pictures and this Jitendra Kumar starrer will mark its debut venture. Currently under pre-production, the film is scheduled to go on floors next month!
