There is no Eid celebration without a theatre full of audience whistling to Salman Khan's peppy numbers. Cut to Race 3. The action thriller opened to jam-packed screens and is currently enjoying a triumphant run with Rs 100 crore (Business in India) in its kitty already. Besides Bhaijaan's swag, Jacqueline Fernandez's oomph and the stellar performances by Daisy Shah, a shirtless Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem and Anil Kapoor, the film has been making noise (in the right sense) for its catchy songs.
Case in point is Heeriye featuring Salman and Jacqueline. While the party number is an ode to the mythical love story of Heer and Raanjha, amped up, Race 3 style, we couldn’t help but notice it’s uncanny resemblance to an old Punjabi song Naina Da Nasha released in 2015. Sung by Deep Money, featuring Falak Shabir, the popular track has similar tunes and beats as to those of Heeriye and more importantly, features Deep Money too. But the vocals and music are by Meet Bros while Kumaar has penned the lyrics.
Keeping all allegations aside, there is nothing like the truth coming out straight from the horse’s mouth. We contacted singer Deep Money who clarified that Heeriye and Naina Da Nasha are different songs. “Kuch nahi hai Ma’am. Heeriye is a Bollywood number for Salman Bhai and Naina Da Nasha is different.”

When further prodded if Salman’s song is a remake of his old number, he replied saying,“Mereko lagta nahi hain. Ab logg usko milane chahe toh usmein koi problem nahi hai. That song is different and my song is different.’
Further, Deep Money’s team member too confirmed that “Heeriye is a complete new song.” Rumours may now rest in peace we say!
As for Heeriye, the song has already raked in over 79 million views on YouTube and has easily made it to the top tracks in the chartbuster. The lyrics are easy on the ears and halfway through you are bound to be humming, “Heeriye ni nasha tera karke, Na puchh humein kya ho gaya…”

Directed by Remo D'souza, Race 3 is a joint production by Ramesh Taurani and Salman Khan. The movie, like all of Salman's past Eid offerings, have set the ticket counters ringing. The approx total after its first-weekend post-release amounts to Rs 106 crore! Now that's the magic we all await every Eid.
