Okay, the big question now is which designer is going to be dressing up Sonam Kapoor for her May 7-8 wedding to beau Anand Ahuja? We would have thought the stylish actress could easily do the job herself and must have planned her wedding trousseau ages ago!
Instead, what PeepingMoon.com is hearing is that not one – but three top designers are going to be trusted with the job. After all, there are three big functions on the two days of the wedding and a fashion-conscious actress like Sonam would like to look and different for all three functions.
There’s the Mehendi at a ballroom-like banquet area in her luxurious duplex residence at Sunteck Signature Island apartments in BKC. Then there’s the Hindu marriage ceremony with the saat pheras at her aunt Kavita Singh’s heritage bungalow in Bandra Bandstand near Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat. And finally there’s the Sangeet with band-baaja-baraat and a majestic Reception at The Leela in Sahar.
PeepingMoon.com will give you the names of all three designers. But if you want to know which one will be dressing up Sonam for which function, you had better call the bride-to-be herself. The designers have all been sworn to secrecy and will not drop any hint.

Top of the list is Bollywood’s biggest couturiers, te legendary Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, for whose many fashion shows Sonam has proudly walked the ramp. These couturiers are described as being royal, over the top, and grand and they are said to sew in a lot of drama in their designs. What’s a Bollywood wedding without drama? So, count Abu Sandeep in.

Then there’s Sonam’s long-time friend, the lovely designer Anamika Khanna, with whom she appeared in a bridal fashion magazine cover under the title “I Do”. That was a dead giveaway.

The Kolkata designer, known for her classic yet contemporary lehengas, has dressed the actress on several occasions and also styled her for her appearances at international events.

And finally there’s Anuradha Vakil, one of our few designers who works with handcrafted textiles, and whom Sonam considers a “Second Mom”. The actress has always admired Anuradha for her proud use of Indian material and embroidery and is said to be wanting an artistic, one-of-a-kind outfit from Anuradha for one of her functions.
