Exclusive: Not Siddhant Chaturvedi, this actor to play the second lead in Saif-Ananya's thriller

Saif Ali Khan who's currently busy with the promotions of Jawaani Jaaneman will next be seen playing a father in Rahul Dholakia's next directorial. Peepingmoon.com exclusively told you last month that Ananya Pandey has been cast to play Saif's daughter in this action-thriller that revolves around the father-daughter bond. Now we have learnt that Dholakia has found his second male lead for this relationship-drama. 

However, it's not Siddhant Chaturvedi as being rumoured in media for the last few weeks. Gully Boy fame Siddhant was not even approached and the makers, we heard, were surprised when his name surfaced in tabloids. According to sources close to the development, Divyendu Sharma has come on board to play the second male lead in this yet-untitled thriller. Although the details of his character have been kept under wraps, Divyendu who became a household name after his stellar performance as Munna Bhaiya in Amazon Prime series Mirzapur is believed to be playing a crucial and pivotal role in Saif and Ananya's story.

The Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani production is said to be an emotional flick with lots of thrilling elements. As per sources, Dholakia is currently giving the final touches to his script and will soon begin the recce to start the shooting in April 2020.

Divyendu has lately been doing web shows and films more often and Dholakia's this film will mark his return to theatres two years after his last silver screen outing, Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chasme Baddoor actor was seen in Kanpuriye and Badnaam Gali last year but both the films were released straightly on OTT. He's currently awaiting the release of Mirzapur Season 2, expected to premiere in March this year. That apart, Divyendu will also be seen in Applause Entertainment's edgy family-drama series, Salt City.
