Payal Ghosh tenders unconditional apology to Richa Chadha in Bombay High Court for making derogatory statements

Richa Chadha, a while ago, filed a lawsuit in Bombay High Court against Payal Ghosh for dragging her name in Anurag Kashyap's sexual harassment controversy. The actress also named Kamaal R Khan and a news channel for making derogatory statements against her. Soon after, Payal told the Bombay High Court that she is ready to withdraw her statement and tender an apology. Now, in the latest development, the actress has tendered unconditional apology to Richa in the form of an undertaking and the suit has disposed.

Payal, sharing the update on Twitter, said that the Bombay High Court has accepted the apology and it is an amicable settlement between Richa and her. "Our consent term with certain conditions has been finalised, filed & accepted by Hon’ble High Court as an amicable settlement. No one wins no one lost. It’s a case of win-win," Payal tweeted.

On the other hand, Kamaal R Khan aka KRK will contest the suit against Richa.

In her plea, Richa's lawyer stated, "Payal and others allegedly attempted to drag her into alleged claims against a third person which is not only false, frivolous and vexatious but also done with an intent to cause damage to the immense goodwill she has acquired through years of hardwork’’ in the film industry. The loss to her “reputation’’ is “irreparable’’ and “continuous’’ said Richa to court and she had “suffered tremendous humiliation and stress’’ and hence she has craved leave of the court to increase the damages later if required. She has however said that the “quantum of damages’’ may be increased due to “continue effects’’ of the “defamatory acts"

Richa's name was dragged in the case after Payal accused Anurag of sexual harassment last month.
