Salman changes Aayush Sharma’s debut film’s name to Loveyatri but it’s still unacceptable

It looks like there is no respite for Salman Khan and his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. A day after their upcoming film’s title was changed from Loveratri to Loveyatri, a Hindu outfit informed the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday claiming that the new name is still unacceptable to it. The city-based Sanatan Foundation had last week filed a PIL seeking the name change and some change in the film itself claiming that it “hurts sentiments of Hindus”. The outfit told the Court that the new name still sounds similar to the Hindu festival of Navratri and hence is unacceptable.

Lawyer BB Agarwal on behalf of the petitioners submitted in the court that the film’s tagline – journey of love- could be converted into the film’s title and suggested Love Ki Yatra as a probable name for the film. Salman had announced the name change on Twitter on Tuesday. The name change is not the only issue the film is facing.

During a hearing on the admission of the PIL on Wednesday, the filmmaker’s lawyer told the court that the litigation was “immature” as the film is yet to get a certification from the censor board. In turn, a division bench of Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice V M Pancholi told the producers’ lawyer to get more details about the film and rebuked him on how can the promos be released without certification from censor board. The film also stars Warina Hussain who is making her debut along with Aayush. Loveyatri is slated for October 5 release.
