Preeti Jhangiani's son Jayveer, 7, allegedly abused and threatened by senior citizen

A senior citizen has been accused of threatening and abusing Preeti Jhangiani’s seven-year-old son Jayveer Dabas. A police officer told a leading daily that the actress had filed a complaint at Mumbai’s Khar police station on September 6. Jayveer and his brother Dev, along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s nephew Vihaan, engaged in a scuffle with a group of children following which the matter escalated to a ridiculous dispute.

Jayveer and Dev accompanied by their nanny were at the building Shiva Sthan, near their residence Bandra Legacy, to play with a common friend. While playing, one of the boys physically hurt Jayveer following which the child got enraged and got into a verbal argument with him. The boy, thereafter, informed his grandfather, who arrived at the spot and allegedly “threatened and abused” Jayveer.

The leading daily quoted a source, "Four boys including Jayveer were playing on the premises of Shiva Sthan. For some reason, one of the boys punched Jayveer into his stomach and in return, Jayveer abused him saying ‘stupid’. The boy went to his house and informed his grandfather Arif Siddhiqui. The fumed Siddhiqui immediately reached on the ground floor where the kids were playing and vented out his anger on Jayveer. Siddhiqui threatened and abused Jayveer and told the security guard to throw him out of the building campus."

The source also added that Aishwarya’s sister-in-law Shrima Rai was at the spot too and tried her level best to sort the matter. But the senior citizen, instead, asked her to “keep quiet” and “mind her own business”.

“There was scuffle among boys playing football on the ground. When I intervened, the elderly man tried to demean me. He was very very aggressive,” Shrima told the daily.

Jayveer, at the moment, is pretty much upset about the incident and isn’t willing to go to school or eat food -  he is ‘completely traumatized’, Preeti and her husband Parvin Dabas told the daily.

The senior citizen has been asked to report to Khar police station, a police officer has said.

Preeti appeared in the films Mohabbatein, Awara Paagal Deewana and Ssukh. She gained widespread popularity after featuring in the hit pop video Chui Mui Si Tum Lagti Ho that became a rage during the late 90s.
