In a much-needed relief for actor Salman Khan, the court exempted him from seeking permission every time he has to travel abroad. A leading daily reported his Counsel HM Saraswat saying, “Now Salman Khan will not have to take permission of the court every time he has to travel abroad. But then he will have to keep the court updated about the period of the travel, dates, destinations, the stay, and itinerary.”
The leading daily reported that a similar application has been moved by the defense in the Sessions Court seeking modification in the bail condition order. Salman was given bail in the blackbuck poaching case but was ordered that he take permission every time he has to travel abroad. However, this application was withdrawn. Saraswat told the daily, “this application had been withdrawn by us and a fresh application was moved today, which was granted by Judge Chandra Kumar Songara.”
Salman was convicted by the Jodhpur Court for allegedly shooting and killing blackbucks in Kankani Village near Jodhpur on October 1, 1998, when he was shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Saath Saath Hain. His co-actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were also accused but were acquitted by the court. However, Salman was granted bail on April 7, this year, after spending two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail. He was sentenced to five years in jail on April 5, 2018, by the CJM court in the case.
The actor was barred by the court to travel abroad which resulted in the last shooting schedule of his film Race 3 to be shot in India instead of South Africa which was initially planned. However, later the ban was lifted and he was allowed to go to the US and Canada for his Dabangg: The Tour Reloaded but only after seeking permission from the Court.
