Police complaint filed against Hrithik Roshan for duping stockist for Rs. 21 Lakhs

In a sudden turn of events, a cheating case has been filed against Hrithik Roshan and eight others in Chennai by the Chennai Police. The complaint was filed by Chennai based stockist R. Muralidharan for allegedly duping him of Rs. 21 Lakhs. He was appointed as the super stockist for Hrithik’s merchandise brand HRX in 2014.

The complainant alleged that the actor along with others members associated with the brand failed to supply the necessary products on time. Apparently, they even dissolved their marketing team without Muralidharan's knowledge or any prior notice. Because there was no marketing activity, the sales too, came to a steady halt. Muralidharan claimed that when he sent the products back to the firm, they did not pay him for them.

The accused (Hrithik) did not only refuse to pay for the stagnant products but also the godown rent and employee salaries. These combined cost Muralidharan a total of Rs. 21 lakhs, he mentioned in the complaint. Based on his complaint a case has been filed under section 420 - cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property of the Indian Penal Code, in the Kodungaiyur Police station in Chennai.

Although Hrithik's team is yet to issue a clarification on this. For the uninitiated, the complaint was filed in the month of June, this year.

Hrithik launched his brand HRX in partnership with an online shopping portal to exclusively launch and manufacture his apparel in November 2013. However, the brand failed to leave an impression on the buyers.

Currently, on the work front, Hrithik will be seen in Vikas Bahl’s Super 30. It is slated to release in January 2019. The film was meant to be a biopic on a Bihar-based mathematician Anand Kumar. However, Kumar landed in trouble when one of his students accused him of inflating the number of students who cleared the IIT-JEE exams. Since this incident, the makers of the film have decided against treating it as a biopic. In fact, the makers even talked about removing all references to Kumar.
