FIR registered in Zaira Wasim Molestation Case, Accuse identified!

Latest Update: FIR registered in Zaira Wasim Molestation Case. Vistara Airlines was summoned to handover the list of passengers on the flight. Accuse has been identified.

Within hours after Dangal actress Zaira Wasim narrated on Instagram how she was allegedly molested by a co-passenger on a flight from Delhi to Mumbai last night, the Mumbai Police has taken up the matter in its hands. As per our sources, the police officials visited the hotel where Zaira is staying (in Santacruz) to record her statement this morning. The crew members of Vistara airline UK981 are under the scanner too. Currently, their statements are being recorded in Sahar Police Station. Despite the airlines tweeted out a formal apology and extended support to Zaira, the Mumbai Police has no plans to let them go off the radar easily.

Reportedly, the civil aviation ministry and aviation watchdog DGCA have sought details from Air Vistara over the incident. Furthermore, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, who is from Wasim's home state of Jammu and Kashmir, tweeted, "The passenger should be identified to the police by @airvistara & a case filed for legal action. None of this "he fell at my feet so I forgive him" rubbish!"

NCW Chairperson, Rekha Sharma extended her support to Zaira and expressed her worrying concern over such incidents. "I just saw the video on Instagram & my heart goes out to her. I am really horrified the way this incident happened & after that the crew didn't help this girl. That was very shocking because Vistara claims that it has zero tolerance. Vistara hasn't sensitized their crew to take action against men torturing women on flight. I am taking suo moto cognizance of this & giving notice to Vistara. Also a copy to DGP Maharashtra to act against Vistara Airlines.I would like to tell Vistara that if they have zero tolerance why they have not named this person till now. Naming them is very very important. We would like to tell Zaira that we are there to help her out in any way we can."

With support pouring from various sections, we applaud Zaira's efforts to bring the issue to the limelight and address the taboo associated with molestation.
