Made In Heaven 2 has been one of the most awaited romantic dramas, and it was totally worth the wait! Starring Sobhita Dhulipala Arjun Mathur, Mona Singh, Shashank Arora, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Trinetra Haldar, and Vijay Raaz. It’s a 7-episode series on Amazon Prime Video directed by Zoya Akhtar, Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan, Nitya Mehra.
After a gap of 6 months, it continues with Tara (Sobhita ) and Karan’s (Arjun ) wedding planning agency ‘Made In Heaven’, but the struggle to bounce the business back gets real this time. Trying their best to make the ends meet, both the characters are faced with new challenges in their professional and personal lives. Whereas Karan is still struggling to embrace his identity completely, Tara is going through a divorce with Adil (Jim ), and amidst all this, the business seems falling apart with some huge losses.

This season brings some dark twists in the life of every character but keeps the engagement high. With a new challenge at each turn, the suspense remains throughout. The weddings are definitely bigger this season, but what the most indulging is, every wedding preparation deals with some social issue and societal pressure. From the obsession with the fair-skin to domestic violence, polygamy, and queer marriages. ‘Acceptance is the key’ but that ‘key’ is not always used and sometimes even ignored, it is very promising of the makers to depict such situations. The real representation of the society along with the strong screen presence of the characters and some thoughtful dialogues, Made In Heaven 2 makes one delve deep into the reality of the world and question the existence of such issues. .

Sobhita, Mona, and Trinetra are the pillars of the series and their screen presence keeps one engaged. Jim and Kalki also gave a strong performance. Mrunal Thakur, Dia Mirza, and Radhika Apte were the perfect choice for their respective roles. Mona is introduced as Bulbul Jahauri, a shareholder's wife who turns out to be an auditor of the agency, in the beginning, she appears to be a tough and stern woman but further, it's revealed that she is actually fragile and one gets to see her soft side. Trinetra, who plays Meher is a very strong character and is struggling to get her identity accepted by society. Sobhita remains a confident boss lady who irrespective of what crisis she has to go through, always makes it the way she wants. Jim and Kalki share a lot of screen together and their chemistry is commendable. Pulkit Samrat and Elnaaz Norouzi bring a sprinkle of entertainment and Bollywood essence.

 The series brings so much diversity in terms of characters, that one will surely relate to some or other.  Multiple stories with a lot of drama in each. Its commendable how the makers chose to keep different characters having to follow their own paths, yet making them a part of the same story by some connections, giving importance to every role portrayed. It didn’t give a feeling even for a fraction of second that somebody is getting more or less of the screen presence or importance in the story. Its also very interesting that some stories seem to finish open-ended, and it’s up to the viewer at least for this season to think of an ending. 

Every love story is not a fairy tale and sometimes just an agreement or the outcome of the situation, harsh but true, the series makes you question if perfect relationships actually exist. Although the plot is strong and the performances are commendable, some scenes felt uncomfortable and unnecessary, just like a cherry on the top of the cake that no one likes. By the end of the series, everyone curves their path and ends up where they choose to be. Made In Heaven 2 is a highly engaging and thought-provoking series, and definitely keeps the suspense rolling throughout.
