Celebrating Disney+ Day with utmost fervour, Disney+ Hotstar has surprised fans by unveiling Kajol’s first look in her upcoming digital debut series. The superstar, and everyone’s forever crush, Kajol will play a lawyer for the first-time ever in Hotstar Specials’ The Good Wife - Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka. Directed by Suparn Verma and produced by Banijay Asia, The Good Wife - Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka will release soon on Disney+ Hotstar. But until then, as Kajol says in the teaser, ‘shuru karein?’, in anticipation of the series.
Playing a lawyer in The Good Wife - Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka, the versatile actor said, “I have been playing multiple characters throughout my acting journey, but the firsts are always special. The beauty of OTT platforms is that they give creators and actors an opportunity to reinvent and experiment with different formats, and with Disney+ Hotstar’s The Good Wife, that’s exactly what I got! As a career first move, I will be playing a lawyer in my first ever series, directed by the fabulous Suparn Verma. I’m excited to be sharing more about the show and the character I play, so stay tuned!”

Disney+ Day is an annual celebration of the Disney+ global community that debuted in 2021 and features content premieres from the streaming service’s marquee brands, special experiences and offers for subscribers and fans, and more. This year, Disney+ Day returns on Thursday, September 8th, leading into D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa in Anaheim, CA.
The original series, The Good Wife, was created by CBS Studios, in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. Executive producers who worked on the show include Robert and Michelle King, Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Brooke Kennedy, Craig Turk, Leonard Dick, Ted Humphrey and Keith Eisner. The format rights are distributed globally by Paramount Global Content Distribution and it has been licensed in China, India, Japan, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam.
