The trailer of Huma Qureshi and Sohum Shah’s Maharani Season 2 was dropped today. In the series, Huma returns as Bihar’s Chief Minister Rani Bharti and is hell-bent on changing the face of the state in ‘new Bihar’. As the political turmoil grips the state hinged on caste and religion politics and violence, she vows to tackle the miscreants with a firm hand and break the traditions.
Huma is up against not only the opposition spearheaded by Amit Sial but also faces her husband Bheema Bharti (played by Sohum Shah) as an adversary waiting to reclaim the CM’s seat. As she vehemently tries to take control of the state she says towards the end, “Traditions are made to be broken someday. And I am infamous for breaking them."

Maharani Season 2 also features Vineet Kumar, Inaamulhaq, Kani Kasturi, Anuja Sathe, Pramod Pathak and Neha Chouhan. The show is produced by Kangra Talkies and directed by Ravindra Gautam. Subhash Kapoor and Nandan Singh serve as showrunners and writers of the show.
Maharani Season 2 will stream from August 25 on SonyLIV.
