Huma Qureshi’s web series Maharani will be back on OTT with its second season. The teaser of the highly awaited show was released today by SonyLIV. The teaser gives the first look of Huma as CM Rani Bharti and her husband Bheema Bharti played by Sohum Shah.
The teaser opens with the former Chief Minister Bheema Bharti coming out of prison with a bearded look and addressing a political rally and blames his wife for his current scenario. He then promises his followers that he will not take things lying down and will remove Rani from the CM’s chair. The scene then shifts to Rani who is getting into her car. She looks into the camera and shushes all the cacophony around her.

Season one of Maharani saw Rani reluctantly taking over her husband’s office of Chief Minister after Bheema suffered a stroke. The show depicted how a shy and naive Rani proved to be a force to reckon with as she learned the tropes of political machinations and becomes a seasoned politician.
Maharani 2 also stars Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Inaamulhaq, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kani Kasturi, Anuja Sathe, Pramod Pathak, Vineet Kumar and Ravindra Gautam in pivotal roles. It is directed by Ravindra Gautam and Subhash Kapoor and Nandan Singh serve as showrunners. The release date of Maharani Season 2 has not been announced yet.
