Netflix has shared a first look at its Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday during the first day of its Geeked Week showcase. The first look shows Jenna Ortega as the titular character but does not give away anything more.
The 30-seconds clip shows Jenna as Wednesday, complete with the iconic pigtails and a black-and-white polka dotted dress with the characteristic finger clicks. Thing (the disembodied hand) also makes an appearance in the clip. Netflix announced it with the words, “Netflix woefully presents a twisted new series from the mind of Tim Burton.”

Alongside Jenna in the titular role, the series also stars Luiz Guzman as Gomez Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. Hunter Doohan, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and Georgie Farmer also feature. The eight-episode series will see Wednesday Addams as a student sleuth at Nevermore Academy. She will be seen attempting to master her psychic abilities, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago while braving her academic life.
Wednesday is directed by Tim Burton and will stream on Netflix soon.
