Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts: Oliver Phelps points out goof-up in Weasley twins’ names; co-stars Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis call it ‘legit hilarious’

Oliver Phelps, who played the role of George Weasley in the Harry Potter films has pointed out a goof-up in the credits mentioned in the recently released Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts retrospective special that premiered on January 1 on HBO Max. Taking to Instagram, Oliver shared a screenshot from the reunion episode that got the names of his and his twin brother James Phelps wrong.

In the picture, Oliver was credited as playing George Weasley and James as Fred Weasley when it was actually vice-versa. Sharing the picture, Oliver captioned it, "I guess after all those pranks over the years somebody decided to get their revenge. It was fantastic to be part of the HP reunion. Hope you all enjoyed it. #ReturnToHogwarts."

Interestingly, in the Harry Potter books the Weasley twins often joke about people getting mixed up with their names and pull quite a number of gags on their names, including calling themselves ‘Gred and Forge’ and lamenting the fact that they get sweaters emblazoned with alphabets for Christmas from their mother.

Reacting to the post, Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the movies, commented, "It was my doing #weaslebee #returntohogwarts.” Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, commented, "This is legit hilarious. Dude. Wtf? Haha." Afshan Azad, who essayed the role of Padma Patil, dropped several laughing emojis and so did Harry Potter fans.

Among the stars and filmmakers taking part in the HBO Max special are, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Ian Hart, Toby Jones, Lewis, Evanna Lynch, producer David Heyman and directors Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell and David Yates.
