HBO Max has dropped the first teaser trailer of its highly-anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon. The fantasy series is based on George RR Martin’s book Fire and Blood and is set ‘200 years before the fall of the throne’. The book centers around the history of the Targaryen family and is set two centuries before the events of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, which Game of Thrones was based on.
The teaser trailer does not reveal much about the plot but reveals its principal cast of Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Sonoya Mizuno, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, and Olivia Cooke. Other cast members include Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Graham McTavish, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson,Gavin Spokes, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, Emily Carey, Milly Alcock, David Horovitch and Fabien Frankel. As expected there are lots of sword fights and references to dragon with the dialogue, “Dreams didn’t make us kings. Dragons did”, taking centre stage.

HBO hasn’t given a specific release date other than to say that House of the Dragon will air in 2022, and it will of course be on the HBO Max streaming service.
