Kajol and daughter Nysa review Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India, lavish praise on the ‘sensible’ film

Ajay Devgn’s highly-anticipated film Bhuj: The Pride of India has finally released on Disney+Hotstar. The patriotic film is garnering rave reviews for its portrayal of a true incident from India’s history during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Ajay organized a special screening for the film for his family including wife Kajol, mother-in-law Tanuja, his children Nysa and Yug and Shahid Kapoor. Now, after watching the film Kajol and Nysa have gone ahead and shared their review.

Taking to Instagram, Kajol lavished praise on Ajay and the film. She wrote, “My theatre experience after soooooooo long! What an awesome high.. reminds us of all the things we take for granted without ever worrying about who is giving us the safety and security of just being normal. Hats off salute to all those real life action heroes who keep us safe everyday of their very unsafe lives. @indianairforce @indianarmy.adgpi @indiannavy #BhujThePrideOfIndia Out Today on @disneyplushotstarvip at 5:35pm #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex @ajaydevgn #NationalPride #CountryLove #IndianArmy #WatchItAsap #Bhuj #SoProudOfMyHusband (sic).”

On the other hand, Nysa also appreciated the film. In an interaction with the media, Ajay revealed what his kids said about the film and said, “I never expected them to like the film, but they have loved it. Nysa is very critical. She doesn’t like most of my films, so when she saw this film and liked it I was very happy. She said it’s very sensible, it’s very straight, there is not even one extra scene in the film. These kids watch a lot of Hollywood. So in this film, there are no songs; we haven’t diverted from those 24 hours at all."

Ajay plays the role of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik in Bhuj: The Pride of India, who at the time of the 1971 Indo-Pak war saved the border area in Gujarat from the Pakistani army. He was in charge of the Bhuj Airport at that time and re-constructed the entire IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from a local village in Madhapar. The film is directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya and also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk, Nora Fatehi and Sharad Kelkar.
