You think only Doordarshan nailed on people’s nostalgia when they started airing 90s shows like Ramayan, Shaktiman, The Jungle Book and others. So how can Hollywood be far behind? Director Robert Rodriguez has brought back his popular superheroes Sharkboy and Lavagirl for his new film set in the same cinematic universe, We Can Be Heroes and the bonus is Priyanka Chopra Jonas who is playing the antagonist in the film.
Netflix dropped the teaser of the film today that shows Taylor Dooley reprising her role as an adult Lavagirl. However, Taylor Lautner who played Sharkboy in the 2005’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D has been replaced by J.J. Dashnaw. Apparently, the only speaking role will be of Lavagirl in the sequel. Priyanka shared the teaser on Instagram and wrote, “I had the best time shooting this movie, especially with Robert Rodriguez and these amazing super kids!! Loved playing their nemesis.... who do you think is going to win, them or me?! Streaming on Netflix New Years Day.”
Rodriguez told an online portal, “A lot of families have spent a lot of time together. I’ve been getting calls from all kinds of studios: ‘Reboot Spy Kids.’ ‘Reboot Sharkboy.’ Of course they want to. They’re all sitting at home with their kids”
Wanna feel old? Sharkboy and Lavagirl are parents now (and their daughter is played by Vivien Lyra Blair aka Girl from BIRD BOX)

I’m sorry but Taylor Lautner will always be THE sharkboy and Netflix should’ve done everything possible to get him out of the cave where he’s hiding. I want my full 2005 nostalgia experience! pic.twitter.com/LCGjZp8Znj
