Borat 2 trailer: Sacha Baron Cohen takes a dig at Donald Trump and Mike Pence in the sequel

The first trailer for the new Borat film has arrived and Sacha Baron Cohen is back to doing what he does best- shock audiences with his crazy act based on current and topical events. The film fully titled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of prodigious Bribe to Americam Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is the direct sequel to the 2006 film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

In the trailer, Borat returns to the United States and discovers that he must wear disguises to keep the fans at bay that have seen the first film. He is accompanied by his daughter who is not much different from him and the duo has one hilarious escapade after another. Borat also stays with a couple of strangers due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

Cohen’s gleefully disruptive nature is probably the highlight of 2020 as this film snuck under the radar like a thief by dropping the trailer without any noise. The sequel seems promising and hilarious but still has a steep climb to outdo its predecessor. The trailer ends with Borat dressing up like President Donald Trump and interrupting a speech being made by Vice President Mike Pence, and thereby it fulfils its promise of a great watch.

Irina Nowak stars in the lead opposite Cohen and the film is directed by Jason Woliner, and is written by Sacha Baron Cohen, Anthony Hines, Dan Swimer, Peter Baynham, Erica Rivinoja, Dan Mazer, Jena Friedman and Lee Kern. The film is produced by Sacha Baron Cohen, Monica Levinson and Anthony Hines and executive produced by Buddy Enright, Nicholas Hatton, Peter Baynham, Dan Mazer and Stuart Miller.

The film will stream on Amazon Prime Video starting October 23, 2020. Watch the trailer here:
