'Dilli is a little 'thanda', should be something sexier like House Of Cards,' says Saif Ali Khan about the title of his upcoming Amazon Prime Video web series

Saif Ali Khan has been a part of Bollywood for nearly 30 years now. Be it acting or producing films, the actor is an active part of the industry. Now, after opening the year with the entertaining film Jawaani Jaaneman with Tabu and Alaya F, Saif is all set to explore more of the digital zone with Amazon Prime Video's Dilli. The web series which was formerly titled Tandav marks Saif's return to the web space after Sacred Games and has piqued the interest of many already. While further details of the show are yet to be unveiled, Saif seems to find the title 'thanda'. During an interview, the Laal Kaptaan actor told that he hopes that the makers don't lock Dilli as the title. He further added that a sexier one like House Of Cards should be finalised.

“I hope it’s not eventually called Dilli. Tandav was the working title that captured more the essence of what the show was about. Dilli is a little thanda really. I don’t think we have either titles, Dilli or Taandav. We have to work hard to come up with something a little sexier like House of Cards. Something with a little more poetry to the title than just a geographical location,” Saif told.

Talking about Dilli, Saif said that the idea behind conceptualizing it was the political scenario in the country and the involvement of people in it. “The idea behind the show was that in India we really live politics and we have a strong political system. We have had films like Rajneeti or whatever. Just to have a show set in Lutyen’s Delhi and also JNU--with changed names of course,” Saif added.

Dilli is created by Ali Abbas Zafar and stars Dimple Kapadia, Sarah Jane Dias, Sunil Grover and Amyra Dastur.
