Netflix, after entertaining us with an array of interesting films and series, is all set to tell yet another riveting tale of passion, struggle and achievement with Sooni Taraporevala directed Yeh Ballet. Like the title itself suggests the crux of the film, the makers have ensured to pique the interest of the audience and now, they finally released its trailer on social media platforms today. The film stars Achintya Bose as Asif, Manish Chauhan as Nishu and Julian Sands as Saul Aaron.
Speaking of the trailer, it introduces us to Asif's and Nishu's orthodox parents and gives us a glimpse into their socio-economic status. While Nishu has participated in a dance-based reality show, Asif remains aloof to the fame. However, their passion for dance and to prove themselves, Nishu and Asif join a ballet class and undergo training with Saul, who toughens them for the journey ahead. From the dance form being alien to them to mastering it with hard work, the two boys break past the shackles of the society and parental pressure.
Directed by Sooni, a Padma Shri awardee, Yeh Ballet is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under his banner Roy Kapur Films. The music of the film is composed by Ankur Tewari. Shiamak Davar, Cindy Claes and Vitthal Patil are behind the choreography. Yeh Ballet apart from Achintya, Manish and Julian, will star Jim Sarbh. It will premiere on Netflix from February 21, 2020.
