After Mouni Roy's exit, Krystle D'Souza to play the titular role in Ekta Kapoor's dream project 'Mehrunisa'?

Ekta Kapoor is amongst those names who are known to churn out the best shows on television and the lady holds her name high on the list of successful serial producers with pride. The head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, after giving the audience a franchise to remember-Naagin, is all set to bring forth yet another historic show Mehrunisa but in the form of a web series. It was around two years ago that Ekta announced her dream project and it was rumoured that Mouni Roy will be in the lead role. Mouni, who got a career-changing show under Ekta's banner has now reportedly quit the show and will not be able to continue with it owing to date issues. After all, she has several films under her belt.

Post Mouni's exit, Ekta has decided to bring in her protege Krystle D’souza onboard wherein she will play the titular role. Well, Krystle has been an active face on television with her great acting skills and it will be interesting to see how this project shaped up.

Apart from this show, Krystle will also be seen starring in a show titled Fitrat. The series is said to be a love triangle with a very pleasant looking cast.

Unfortunately, this will be Mouni’s second project in the last two months in which she won’t be a part of it after its announcement. In June 2019, the producer of film Bole Chudiyan, Rajesh Bhatia had accused Mouni of unprofessionalism and disregarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). However, the actress chose to maintain a dignified stance by not mudslinging. Mouni has been replaced by Tamannaah Bhatia.

In the coming months, the Naagin actress will be seen in Brahmastra that stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. She will also be seen in Made In China opposite Rajkummar Rao.
