Leila trailer: Huma Qureshi puts up a gut wrenching performance as a mother searching for her missing daughter in this dystopian drama

Netflix, on Friday, released the trailer of their dystopian drama titled Leila featuring Huma Qureshi, Rahul Khanna and Arif Zakaria. The trailer gives us a glimpse of Shalini(Huma)'s life after she sets to search for her daughter who mysteriously goes missing.

The trailer opens to a chorus chanting 'Jai Aryavarta' indicating that the series is based on the foundation of spiritual practices. A few seconds into the trailer, we learn that Shalini is married to a person who belongs to a different sect of religious beliefs. Soon, Shalini's husband (Rahul Bose) is murdered by some unknown men and her daughter is kidnapped. Post the tragedy, Shalini has to undergo a process of transformation in order to be pure from all sins she committed by getting married to a person outside her community. However, Shalini's search for her daughter doesn't end. She takes help of a girl who seems to belong to a below poverty line family, residing in the slums. As the trailer comes to an end, the Chief(Arif Zakaria) of the 'aryavarta' community tells Shalini that she will never be able to find her daughter, which gives us a hint that the Chief may be behind the kidnapping. The trailer is filled with gut-wrenching scenes and grippy suspense that makes the wait for the series to release difficult.
