Anushka Sharma to produce a web-series based on rape-accused Tarun Tejpal’s novel The Story of My Assassins?

Anushka Sharma will produce a web series for OTT platform Amazon Prime, based on journalist-author Tarun Tejpal’s book The Story of My Assassins, a leading daily reports. Sources told the daily that the show is currently being shot in Delhi. The Story of My Assassins is a crime novel and narrates the story of a journalist as he sets out on a journey to investigate his would-be murderers.

Tarun Tejpal, former editor-in-chief of investigative magazine Tehelka, stepped down from his post in 2013 after he was accused of rape by a female colleague. He was arrested soon after and is on bail since July 1, 2014. The Story of My Assassins was written by Tejpal in 2010.

No other details have been made available about the web series except for the fact that Anushka is producing it. Apart from appearing in films, Anushka champions several other causes including gender equality and animal rights. She established her production banner Clean Slate Films with her brother Karnesh Sharma in October 2014.

Under Clean Slate films, Anushka has produced the films NH10, Phillauri and Pari – all the three films starred her in the lead role.

Anushka Sharma was last seen in 2018’s Zero, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
