Saif Ali Khan thinks 'it's unfair' to say Nawazuddin Siddiqui outshines him in Sacred Games

Saif Ali Khan is busy absorbing all the praises his latest show, Netflix's Sacred Games is getting from all around. The actor plays the character of Sartaj Singh, a submissive police officer who ultimately saves the city from a forthcoming terror, in the show.

While the show has garnered more praises for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, for his performance as gangster Ganesh Gaitonde, Saif thinks it's unfair to see just Nawaz's contribution into the show.

Senior entertainment journalist, Rajeev Masand writes that Saif has been reading 'practically everything' that's written about him and Sacred Games. However, he just doesn't feel that his characterisation was weak, something that a lot of people are claiming. "That’s unfair. Nawaz is great, but the show can’t only be about Ganesh Gaitonde or it would be very boring. I think we complement each other very well, and the show works because we’re both quite good in it," says Saif.

He also reveals that he couldn't really get time to bond with Nawaz on the sets. He says "He was buried under prosthetics which made it hard for him to talk, but we did exchange friendly grunts".

Saif credits the entire success of the show also to the other actors -- Neeraj Kabi, Radhika Apte and Jitendra Joshi saying, "These guys are at the top of their game and they bring something that is fresh and natural and so different from what we were used to seeing in Bollywood".

The actor, who just returned from a London vacation with his family, has now got more interesting projects in his kitty. Work on Go Goa Gone 2 has already begun and the actor is busy preparing to play a Naga Sadhu in what he calls his most ambitious project till date, a film titled Hunter.
