8 Episodes-8 Characters: Annup Sonii returns to acting in a crime-based web show

Television actor Annup Sonii has been hosting the popular show Crime Patrol on Sony TV for many years now. His association has been limited only to one show over the years. Though his presence was constantly seen, it was never felt due to the monotonous work. Finally, breaking the flatness, the actor is said to have signed the dotted line for a digital show. Annup will mark his return to acting with an untitled web series.

The new web series revolves around the same genre as his television show. The series will feature eight episodes, each one independent of the others. These episodes will bring to light few of the most startling and dark cases that we have known. Though, Annup will be seen playing the protagonist in all the eight episodes. The actor seems to be excited to begin the project. The makers, too, share the same excitement.

A source informed, “The makers of the show are brainstorming on the cases they wish to explore, with Annup also helping them zero in on the final list. Special emphasis is being given to the writing because they don't want to unnecessarily sensationalize topics.”

This untitled web series is scheduled to start rolling by the end of this year. The actor confirmed his association with the show by saying that a formal announcement can be expected by the end of this month. He also added, “The concept is interesting and excites me as an actor. Currently, things are yet to be finalized.”

Annup Sonii was last seen in AltBalaji’s web show The Test Case starring Nimrat Kaur. He played the role of Colonel Imtiaz Hussain an investigative officer who he says was “interesting and colourful”. The show also starred Juhi Chawla, Rahul Dev, Atul Kulkarni, amongst many others. The show was set against the backdrop of Indian Army where Shikha Sharma (played by Nimrat Kaur) was the first woman preparing to be inducted in a combat role in the Indian Army.
