‘They found it a little difficult to understand,’ says Karthi about mixed response received from North Indian audience for Ponniyin Selvan 1

Karthi is looking forward to the release of Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan 2 (PS 2), slated to hit screens on April 28. Although the film created a great buzz among Tamil fans, it failed to click much with the North Indian audience. Now, the actor in a media interaction said that North Indian audience found it a difficult to follow Ponniyin Selvan 1 (PS1).

He said, “I think they (north audience) found it a little difficult to understand. That’s what I felt from my understanding of the reception. Imagine reading a novel with so many character names, you forget some of them when you reach the tenth page. Think that’s what happened with them.”
