R Madhavan is set to star in his next film. The actor will essay the role of Indian inventor and engineer Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu (GD Naidu) in his next feature film. The film is a biopic and is titled GD Naidu. Naidu is referred to as the ‘Edison of India’ and is credited for the manufacturing of the first electric motor in India. He made several significant contributions to a variety of fields including mechanical, electrical and agricultural.
The project was announced by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited on its social media handle with a poster. The poster had the caption, “R.Madhavan in & as GD Naidu.” The poster shows a man looking at a vintage car with its bonnet open in a garage. The man has a bald patch, so by the looks of the poster, one can deduce that Madhavan will once again undergo a stark transformation to portray Naidu.

The film will be directed by Krishna Kumar and Gheetha will play the female lead opposite Madhavan.
