The release dates of highly anticipated films of the year have been rejigged once again due to the coronavirus pandemic. After SS Rajamouli’s RRR that stars Ram Charan and Jr.NTR in the lead announced its theatrical release date of March 25, now other Telugu star-studded films such as Chiranjeevi’s and Ram Charan’s Acharya and Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata have also announced their release dates. Pawan Kalyan’s and Rana Daggubati’s Bheemla Nayak have also announced tentative release dates.
Chiranjeevi’s upcoming action drama Acharya has been confirmed to release in theatres on April 29. The makers of the film took to social media to release a statement about the film hitting cinemas. The statement reads, “After a healthy discussion and on mutual understanding, we would be releasing Acharya on April 29 as RRR would be hitting the screens on March 25.” The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Kajal Aggarwal.

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata which was supposed to hit screens on Sankranti will now release on May 12. Reportedly, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles but no official confirmation has been made about their appearances. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead.

Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati starrer Bheemla Nayak has also released the tentative dates for the film’s release. However, like RRR the makers are toying with two release dates of Feb 25 or April 1 as per the pandemic situation. Releasing a statement, the makers wrote, “As we have always promised, Bheemla Nayak will be a massive theatrical experience. So, we have to wait for the pandemic to subside before presenting it in the theatres for you all. We intend to release the film on Feb 25 or April 1, whenever the situation improves.”

Bheemla Nayak is the official Telugu remake of Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The film is directed by Sagar Chandra and will see Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati share screen space for the first time.
