Chiranjeevi’s and Ram Charan’s ‘Acharya’ postpones its theatrical release in the wake of pandemic

The release of one of the most-anticipated Tollywood films Acharya has been postponed due to the massive surge in coronavirus cases. The film stars Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan in the lead and was earlier scheduled to release on May 13. The makers of Acharya took to social media to announce the postponement of the film’s release and said that the new date will be unveiled once the pandemic situation becomes normal.

Matinee Entertainments, the production house of Acharya on Tuesday took to their Twitter handle and wrote, “Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, #Acharya movie will not be releasing on May 13. New Release date will be announced once the situation becomes normal. Wear mask, Stay home & stay safe! #AcharyaPostponed. (sic)”

Acharya is directed by Koratala Siva and also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Pooja Hegde and Sonu Sood in other lead roles. Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy are producing this project in association with Konidela Production Company. The film has music by Mani Sharma.

Acharya will have Chiranjeevi sharing screen space with son Ram Charan for the first time.
