Legendary playback singer and voice artist SP Balasubrahmanyam has been conferred with Padma Vibhushan by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. The singer who died last year due to complications from Covid-19 is being conferred the award posthumously. The Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian award after the Bharat Ratna. He was a recipient of the Padma Shri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2011) from the Government of India.

Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe gets its release date in place

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Annaatthe has a new release date. The film’s production house Sun Pictures announced that the film will open in cinemas on November 4, 2011 during Diwali. Earlier the film’s makers had plans to release the film in January during Pongal holiday but the shoot delayed the film due to the coronavirus pandemic. The shoot was resumed in December but a fresh outbreak of Covid-19 among the crew members forced the film’s halt. Rajinikanth also was hospitalized in Hyderabad due to fluctuations in blood pressure.

Annaatthe is the first collaboration between the veteran actor and director Siva. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Nayanthara and Khushbu in key roles. Annaatthe will have music by D Imman, who has previously worked with Siva in Viswasam. Siva’s standard technical collaborators, cinematographer Vetri and editor Ruben, have joined him for this project as well.
