After delivering two of the biggest blockbuster films of Indian cinema in the form of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, SS. Rajamouli is back with another big budget film with a stellar cast titled RRR. Today at a press meet held in Hyderabad, the filmmaker spoke at length about the star cast, storyline, the film’s budget and many other interesting and intriguing details about the film. At the RRR press meet, Rajamouli confirmed that Ram Charan and Jr.NTR will be the lead actors of the film. However, what made everyone’s day was the news that Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt will be making their Tollywood debut with RRR. British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones who shot to fame with Steven Spielberg’s film War of the Worlds has also been roped in to play the lead. It is a period film set in the 1920s in the pre-independence period. Characters Ram Charan and Jr.NTR will be playing the revolutionary freedom fighters and for the first time, these two Tollywood heavyweights will sharing screen space.
