While some chose to keep their weddings a private affair, some went all out with band, baajaa and baaraat. Spreading the word of companionship, Bollywood brides and grooms set major goals for future couples. 

As 2021 is coming to an end, let's rewind in time and look at all the Bollywood weddings that made the right amount of noise on social media. Right from Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal's quiet yet fairytale-like wedding, Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif's traditional Punjabi ceremony to Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar's surprise for fans, we simply couldn't stop gushing over these pairs.

Ali Abbas Zafar & Alicia

Ali Abbas Zafar, who remained tight-lipped about his personal life, tied the knot with Alicia on January 3 in a private ceremony in Dehradun. As per reports, Alicia is a French dancer and model. Ali met her while filming Tiger Zinda Hai and wanted to marry her. She said yes to him only after a year. 

Varun Dhawan & Natasha Dalal

Childhood sweethearts Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal tied the knot in Alibaug on January 24. As per the ongoing trend, the couple also chose to go for a no-phone policy during the festivities. The overall theme of the VaruSha Wedding was pastels. Natasha and Varun invited a few people from the industry considering the spread of COVID-19. After the wedding, they stepped out to greet the paparazzi. 

Priyaank Sharma & Shaza Morani

Padmini Kolhapure's son Priyaank Sharma tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Shaza Morani, the younger daughter of producer Karim Morani. The Sharmas and Moranis hosted a party in Mumbai after Priyaank and Shaza's court marriage on February 4. Later, pre-wedding festivities were organised in the Maldives in the month of March. The Hindu wedding took place in Lonavala. Priyaank's cousin Shraddha Kapoor made for the best bridesmaid. 

Dia Mirza & Vaibhav Rekhi

It was a special year for Dia Mirza. She tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi on February 15 in Mumbai. Breaking all stereotypes, Dia and Vaibhav's wedding was solemnised by a priestess. The actress wore a red Banarasi saree and teamed it up with choker, maang tika and gajra. Vaibhav kept it simple in a white sherwani and pyjama. Dia went on a honeymoon to the Maldives with Vaibhav and his daughter from his first wedding. Three months later, the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Avyaan Azaad Rekhi.

Nidhi Dutta & Binoy Gandhi

JP Dutta and Bindiya Goswami's elder daughter Nidhi Dutta got married to Binoy Gandhi on March 7 in Jaipur. It was a big fat Indian wedding with stars from Bollywood present to bless the couple. Celebrities like Suniel Shetty, Arjun Rampal, Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and others were in attendance. 

Harman Baweja & Sasha Ramchandani

Harman Baweja is enjoying life away from the arclights. He is now a producer. Harman tied the knot with health coach Sasha Ramchandani in Kolkata on March 21. The couple got married in a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony. The Love Story 2050 actor opted for a pastel pink sherwani and a white safa. Sasha looked resplendent in silver and maroon lehenga choli.

Evelyn Sharma & Tushaan Bhindi

Evelyn Sharma got married to Tushaan Bhindi in an intimate ceremony in Brisbane, Australia on May 15. She made it official in June by sharing some beautiful pictures. Tushaan, a dental surgeon based in Australia, proposed to the actress in 2019. Evelyn announced her pregnancy in July and welcomed a baby girl named Ava Rania Bhindi on November 12.

Angira Dhar & Anand Tiwari

Actor-director Anand Tiwari married actress Angira Dhar in a secret ceremony on May 30, 2021. Anand directed Angira in Netflix's Love Per Square Foot (2018) co-starring Vicky Kaushal. The ceremony took place in presence of family members and closest friends. 

Yami Gautam & Aditya Dhar

Surprise surprise! Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar kept their relationship a secret for a few years before making it official. Away from the paparazzi and buzz, they tied the knot in a simple traditional Himachali ceremony with only family members in attendance on June 4. Yami and Aditya shared a picture from their wedding and left fans and industry mates surprised. The actress wore her mother's crimson silk saree and did her own makeup with her younger sister's help. She paid homage to Himachal Pradesh roots by wearing a pahadi nath, maang tika and choker. Not some fancy resort, but Yami and Aditya tied the knot in front of a deodar tree at the actress's farmhouse in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. 

Rhea Kapoor & Karan Boolani

Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani's relationship was no secret but their wedding certainly was. The producer married her longtime beau at her residence in Mumbai on August 14. Rhea's elder sister Sonam Kapoor Ahuja flew down from London with her husband Anand Ahuja for the wedding. Keeping it stylish and elegant, Rhea ditched loud colours and opted for pastels for the ceremonies. Her special pearl veil caught the attention and impressed the fashion police. 

Rajkummar Rao & Patralekhaa

After 11 years of dating each other, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa got married on November 15 in Chandigarh. Their wedding was attended by Farah Khan, Huma Qureshi, Abhishek Banerjee and other Bollywood stars. Patralekhaa wore a customised Sabyasachi saree and her veil had a special message written for Rajkummar in Bengali. The message was, "Amar poran bhora bhalobasha ami tomae shomorpon korilam," which loosely translates to "I surrender to you my love-filled heart." During one of the rituals, the groom applied sindoor on the bride’s forehead and asked her to do the same. 

Anushka Ranjan & Aditya Seal 

Anushka Ranjan and Aditya Seal tied the knot on November 21 in Mumbai. The wedding ceremony was attended by celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Vaani Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Krystle D'Souza, Aly Goni and Jasmin Bhasin. The couple were dating for a few years before marrying each other. Anushka and Aditya's wedding was the talk of the town. The actress gave traditional colours a miss and opted for a pastel lavender lehenga. Aditya sang a song for Anushka, leaving her emotional.  

Katrina Kaif & Vicky Kaushal

The last wedding of 2021 was of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. One of the most anticipated weddings of the year took place at the Six Senses Fort in Sawai Madhopur on December 9. Vicky and Katrina chose to keep the ceremony a private affair. Katrina, born to a British mother, honoured Vicky's Punjabi culture and traditions. She transformed into a stunning Punjabi bride who wore a red lehenga, kaleeras, choodas and nath. Vicky couldn't take his eyes off Katrina. The newlyweds shared pictures from the ceremonies with their fans on Instagram.
